Honeymoon In Heaven : Srinagar Is The Place To Be

sri.JPGThe ultimate enjoyment of honeymoon is here. What an idea it would be if one plans a honeymoon trip to Srinagar – the place where heaven is found. Well we will guide you to the trip.

Day 01: Arrive-Srinagar

Reception upon arrival and transfer to Houseboat. After lunch take a shikara ride to the back waters on the Dal Lake . You can visit the floating gardens and floating market.Overnight in Houseboat

 Day02:  Srinagar  Gulmarg (52km/4-5hrs drive):

A guided excursion to Gulmarg by car (the Meadow of Flowers) 2730 meters.Above the sea level. Gulmarg has some of the best Ski slopes in India and one of the highest golf courses in the world with 18 holes. Arrive at Gulmarg and transfer to the hotel where we stay for the night. Dinner and overnight in hotel Grand mumtaz or similar.

 Day 03: Gulmarg-Pahalgam(96km/3-4 hrs drive):

Leave after breakfast for Pahalgam (the valley of shepherds) by car. The total distance of about 96 kms. Will be covered in about 3 hrs. En route, visit the saffron fields of Pampore, Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of lord Vishnu built by the king Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Drive through the pine forest.  Arrive at Pahalgam in the afternoon. Explore the area and take a horse ride to the village of Aru.. Dinner and overnight in hotel Grand Mumtaz or similar.

 Day 04: Pahalgam  Srinagar ((93km/3-4-hrs drive):

In the morning drive back to Srinagar. En-route visit the temple and sacred pool in Mattan. Mattan is a small village about 2 km from the main road and the temple here is dedicated to Lord Shiva, God of the Hindus. The pool beside the temple has clear water and is home to large trout fishes. Drive to Srinagar along the same road. Arrive in Srinagar and transfer to the houseboat.  Evening free, dinner and overnight in houseboat.

  Day 05: In Srinagar : Half day sightseeing:

Morning will be at your leisure for individual activities. Afternoon sightseeing of the famous Mughal Gardens , visiting Nishat Bagh built by Asaf Khan, the brother -in- law of Jehangir in 1632 AD, and Shalimar Bagh built by Jehangir for his wife empress Nur Jahan. All the gardens are situated on the banks of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan hills in the background. Later drive to the hillside temple of Shankaracharya . Built in the 11 th Century, the Shiva temple is built of rock stone and overlooks the Dal Lake.Overnight in Houseboat. Source
