Money Saving Tips for Honeymoon Cruises
Airfare: If you are looking to save money on a cruise honeymoon, pick a debarking location that won't cost you thousands of dollars in airfare. Find out what ports are closest to your home town and what types of cruises leave from those ports. Some cruise ships are scarse during certain seasons, so look into what destinations are options for your month of travel. If you can buy your tickets with miles, then this can also decrease your expenses significantly. Another option for lower airfare is to try to arrange your flight on your own to see if you can find a better deal than what the packages offer.
Off Season Cruises: here’s where you may find a big honeymoon cruise discount. May and September are the low season for an Alaska honeymoon cruise (kids are in school too, and the ship might be a little quieter). For the Gulf of Mexico, January to March is the high season, so consider a Caribbean cruise during the off season (around June).
Book Well in Advance: some cruiselines offer honeymoon cruise specials when they are booked 6 months or more in advance. If you've got your dates and wedding plans all in order, this could be the way to go.
